The Russian government will allocate over half a billion rubles to support businesses in regions bordering Ukraine, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced.

“Today, we will allocate an additional over half a billion rubles to cover the temporary downtime of employees due to reasons beyond their and employers` control. Since the beginning of the year, over two billion rubles have already been directed towards these objectives, enabling enterprises to preserve their workforces and maintain essential working capital,” Mishustin stated during a meeting.

The Prime Minister noted that difficult conditions for conducting business persist in the Kursk, Belgorod, and Bryansk regions. Consequently, various stimulating measures are in place there, including:

  • deferrals on tax and insurance premium payments for individuals and organizations;
  • preferential terms for equipment leasing;
  • the establishment of free economic zones offering preferences for entrepreneurs.

Additionally, the government will allocate over 16.5 billion rubles to eleven constituent entities of the Russian Federation for the construction and reconstruction of regional and intermunicipal highways. This initiative also includes the three border regions. The funding will further support the creation of interchanges, bridges, and other infrastructure facilities.

Mishustin specifically addressed the support measures planned for the Kursk region.

“An additional over 40 billion rubles will be allocated. These funds, among other things, will ensure the continuation of monthly payments for the loss of essential property,” the Prime Minister clarified.

In conclusion, the head of government remarked that, by presidential directive, continuous and comprehensive work is underway to support the residents of the Kursk region and other border territories.
