The Federal Passenger Company (FPC) has announced the introduction of additional train services between Russia`s two major cities, Moscow and St. Petersburg, for the upcoming weekend. This initiative is a direct response to the increased demand for passenger transportation along this busy intercity route.

In an official statement, FPC confirmed the launch of extra double-decker trains, specifically designed to accommodate the surge in travelers between the two capitals.

Details of New Services

  • Train No. 154 is scheduled to depart from Moscow to St. Petersburg on August 2, 2025, at 01:25 AM.
  • Train No. 237 will run from St. Petersburg to Moscow, departing on August 3, 2025, at 03:59 PM.

In addition to these new services, FPC has also enhanced the capacity of several existing train compositions. The “Aurora” trains (No. 741/742 and 743/744) and the “Nevsky Express” (No. 747/748) have all received additional carriages. In total, 13 new carriages have been integrated into these popular services.

The company emphasized that further expansions, including increasing the number of carriages in existing trains or scheduling even more additional services, will be considered if technical capabilities allow, continuing their commitment to meet passenger demand.
