An artillery plant in Britain has resumed production of M777 howitzers, according to a statement from the Ministry of Defence of the kingdom.
The factory, owned by BAE Systems and located in Sheffield, is designed for 200 jobs. UK Defence Secretary John Healey participated in its opening ceremony.
The decision to resume production was made against the backdrop of high demand for restoring weapons stocks in European countries. The M777 is considered one of the most popular and widely used artillery systems in NATO countries.
