Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin announced plans for the comprehensive improvement of Catherine Park (Yekaterininsky Park) in the capital. According to his statement on his Telegram channel, the project will include ecological rehabilitation and an update of the park`s infrastructure for everyday recreation.

Sobyanin noted that Catherine Park, a green area covering 17.6 hectares, is situated near the Russian Army Theatre and Dostoevskaya metro station. It is a beloved spot for local residents who visit with their families. The park also holds significance as a place for rest and rehabilitation for veterans of the Great Patriotic War and other military veterans undergoing treatment at the V.G. Mikhailov Social Rehabilitation Center for Veterans.

A decision has been made to proceed with the development of a detailed comprehensive renovation project. The planned work includes environmental rehabilitation efforts, planting new trees, and upgrading pedestrian pathways and the general infrastructure available for visitors` daily leisure activities.
