Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko has announced the rapid development of the Russian `Abilympics` movement, which now actively involves all regions of the country. This initiative underscores a commitment to inclusive professional education and vocational training for individuals with disabilities.
Over its ten-year journey, the `Abilympics` championship has evolved into a cornerstone event in the field of inclusive professional education, steadily broadening its scope and mission. Chernyshenko emphasized that the movement offers significant opportunities for participants of the special military operation (SMO), aligning with President Vladimir Putin`s vision that those dedicated to serving the Fatherland should have avenues for self-realization and professional development.
This autumn, the National Championship final in Moscow will welcome 79 winners from 37 regions, all of whom are participants of the SMO. This highlights the program`s success in integrating and empowering this specific demographic.
The first `Abilympics 2025` championship in professional skills for special military operation participants recently concluded with a solemn closing ceremony in Kazan. The event brought together representatives from 79 Russian regions, who competed across 15 diverse professional competencies. The regions demonstrating the highest number of finalists included the Republic of Tatarstan, Sverdlovsk Oblast, Krasnoyarsk Krai, Novosibirsk Oblast, and the city of Moscow.
Sergey Kravtsov, Minister of Education of the Russian Federation, addressed the participants with words of encouragement and recognition:
“First and foremost, I want to address each participant. Regardless of the place you took, you are all winners to us. You have once again shown us an example of courage, determination, and mastery, as you acquire new competencies.”
