Leading meteorologist at the Phobos weather center, Evgeny Tishkovets, has announced that Cyclone Barbara is projected to bring the first wet snow, mixed with rain, to the Moscow region by Monday.
Earlier, another senior specialist from the Phobos center, Mikhail Leus, had informed that Cyclone Barbara would reach the capital region by Friday night, marking the conclusion of the dry and warm weather period in Moscow.
Tishkovets further elaborated that the cyclone is expected to deliver its first wet snow and heavy showers to the Tver region on Sunday evening. Subsequently, during the night and morning hours of Monday, it may affect the western and northern districts of the Moscow Oblast, including the city of Moscow itself.
The forecaster mentioned that certain areas in towns surrounding Moscow, such as Klin, Dmitrov, and Sergiev Posad, might see a symbolic dusting of snow, estimated to be between 0.5 to 1 centimeter. However, this thin layer of snow is anticipated to melt rapidly, as temperatures are predicted to fall only to a range of +1 to +4 degrees Celsius.
