Military expert Igor Korotchenko believes that the use of these high-precision munitions will enhance the offensive operations of Russian troops.

The “Motiv” combat elements, also known as “death arrows,” are high-precision weapons equipped with a self-guidance system. However, according to military expert Igor Korotchenko, this is not a new technology. He suggests that the deployment of such munitions could increase the effectiveness of Russian armed forces` offensive actions.

Korotchenko explained their operational principle: “This is an individual guidance system for munitions. A cluster munition, fired by artillery or a multiple launch rocket system (MLRS), opens up in the final stage of its trajectory. The self-guided elements then independently select and strike the target.”

The expert noted that such self-targeting elements have been known for about five to seven years. He emphasized that the more frequently Russian units on the frontline utilize “smart” munitions, the higher the probability of successfully destroying enemy equipment and personnel.

“This clearly indicates that the Russian defense industry is actively implementing such technologies, though the technologies themselves are already known, and there`s nothing sensational here,” Korotchenko summarized.

He believes that these “smart” munitions will enable Russia to achieve better results in offensive operations.

Earlier, military expert Vladislav Shurygin reported on Russia`s use of “Motiv” individual guidance combat elements, or “death arrows,” in the special military operation zone. He pointed to video footage from near Avdiivka, showing Russian servicemen deploying these munitions against Ukrainian armored vehicles.
