The Government of the Russian Federation has expressed its support for a bill aimed at extending the period during which children`s recreational facilities must retain their intended purpose after privatization. This initiative is designed to ensure their continued preservation and development.

The bill, proposed by Andrey Kutepov, Head of the Federation Council`s Committee on Economic Policy, earlier in June, seeks to prolong this period from the current 10 years to 20 years for complexes classified as social infrastructure for children.

The official conclusion on the bill states that it does not contradict higher legal acts, including the Eurasian Economic Union treaty. The government`s endorsement is contingent upon addressing certain comments.

The explanatory note to the document emphasizes that its primary goal is to preserve and develop infrastructure intended for children`s recreation and health improvement. The government highlights that social infrastructure for children encompasses not only facilities for rest and well-being but also the entire system of buildings and structures necessary for children`s life support, as well as organizations providing social services aimed at ensuring a full life, health protection, education, development, and meeting the public needs of children.
