Governor Alexander Avdeev of the Vladimir Region recently met with President Vladimir Putin to provide an update on the region`s development. During their discussion, Avdeev reported substantial economic growth, with the regional economy expanding by over one-third in the last three years. The Governor emphasized an ambitious target to achieve a gross regional product (GRP) of one trillion rubles.
Economic Achievements and Job Creation
Avdeev highlighted the successful initiatives in job creation within the Vladimir Region. He noted that 2024 saw the opening of 13 new enterprises, contributing to the creation of 2,200 new employment opportunities. A significant point of pride was the performance of the Gus-Khrustalny municipal district, which accounts for 90 percent of the country`s container glass production and 70 percent of its fiberglass output.
Future Projects and Invitations
The Governor also provided an update on key infrastructure projects, including the construction of the largest school in Suzdal. He extended an invitation to President Putin for the school`s opening ceremony, scheduled for 2025. Furthermore, Avdeev expressed his intention to invite Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenka and Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko to this significant event.
Addressing Regional Challenges
The meeting was not solely focused on achievements; President Putin and Governor Avdeev also discussed pressing issues facing the region. President Putin drew attention to the high incidence of road accidents on Vladimir Region`s roads. In response, Governor Avdeev sought the President`s assistance in resolving the critical pre-emergency state of the bridge over the Klyazma River in Vladimir, underscoring the urgent need for intervention.
