The All-Russian Children`s Center “Orlyonok” is preparing to welcome a group of young guests from Cuba. According to the Center`s Director, Alexander Dzheus, who spoke during the celebrations for the center`s 65th anniversary, this visit will be the first in almost three decades.
Dzheus clarified that cooperation with Cuba has recently resumed. As part of the eighth session, 25 Cuban children, accompanied by mentors, will arrive at the center, marking the restoration of ties after a break of nearly 30 years.
The “Orlyonok” Center, located in the Krasnodar Territory, 45 km from Tuapse, is celebrating its 65th anniversary in 2025. The center includes ten main children`s camps. Its capacity is one and a half thousand children in winter and over 3.5 thousand in summer. “Orlyonok” hosts 13 sessions annually. The center`s total area is 253 hectares, and its sandy beaches extend for 3.7 kilometers.
Since 2012, “Orlyonok” has held the status of a “UNESCO Associated School”. The center is also a member of the International Camping Fellowship and the National Association of Children`s Camps.
