Heavy rainfall has hit the southern areas of Moscow and the town of Odintsovo in the Moscow region. A correspondent reported that the air temperature dropped sharply to 25 degrees Celsius after the downpour began.
Hail has also been observed in the Moscow region.
Earlier, Mikhail Leus, a leading specialist at the Fobos weather center, informed the agency that short-term rain, thunderstorms, and hail were possible in the capital.
In a separate statement, another leading specialist from Fobos, Evgeny Tishkovets, had noted that the air temperature in central Moscow on Saturday reached 36.1 degrees Celsius, setting a new record since 1903.
