Preview Heavy Rainfall to Hit Moscow on Wednesday Evening, Forecaster Warns

Moscow is poised to experience a **significant downpour on Wednesday evening**, as predicted by Evgeny Tishkovets, a leading specialist from the `Phobos` weather center. The forecast indicates that up to **15 liters of rainwater per square meter** could accumulate over a 12-hour period, while temperatures across the capital region are expected to reach a pleasant **+22 degrees Celsius**.

Tishkovets noted that the initial part of Wednesday will benefit from **fair weather conditions**, primarily due to the influence of a high-pressure anticyclone. This atmospheric system will facilitate a comfortable warming of the air, pushing temperatures to between **+19 and +22 degrees Celsius**.

However, a considerable shift in meteorological patterns is anticipated by late afternoon. A **cold atmospheric front originating from the northwest** is predicted to approach, bringing with it an extensive band of towering **cumulonimbus clouds, potentially reaching heights of up to 8 kilometers**.

A light drizzle is expected to commence after **3:00 PM local time**, gradually intensifying into a **heavy, persistent rain during the evening rush hour**. This intense rainfall is projected to continue almost uninterrupted until the early hours of Thursday morning. The overall volume of precipitation for this 12-hour period on Moscow`s streets is substantial, estimated at **15 liters of rainwater per square meter**.

In addition to the wet conditions, residents should prepare for **gusty winds** from the western quadrant, with speeds ranging from **four to nine meters per second**. Furthermore, atmospheric pressure is forecast to decrease, settling at approximately **738 millimeters of mercury**.
