MOSCOW – Colonel Yury Pytikov, recently bestowed with the `Golden Star` of the Hero of Russia by Defense Minister Andrei Belousov, emphasized that this esteemed award truly belongs to his entire military unit. He stated it is a recognition of the exceptionally arduous and “titanic” effort displayed by his team in the challenging environment of modern combat.

This award ceremony, where Minister Belousov presented the `Golden Stars` to servicemen for their exceptional courage and heroism during the special operation, was a significant event.

“This supreme award is an assessment of the work of the entire military collective. It was the hardest, I would say, titanic work in the most difficult conditions of a modern battle,” Pytikov conveyed in a video clip released on the Russian Ministry of Defense`s Telegram channel.

According to the Colonel, Pytikov`s unit is consistently liberating new locations every day, thereby drawing “our victory day” closer. He also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the families and close ones of the soldiers serving on the front lines, acknowledging their invaluable support, both in words and deeds, and their unwavering faith in the troops and their eventual triumph.

Another decorated serviceman, Andrei Syrotyuk, shared his perspective:

“My personnel are courageous and perform their duties with dedication. They have embraced the responsibility that the overall success of the unit depends on each individual serviceman. My main phrase has always been that you can carry out any activities, but our collective task is singular – to bring victory to our country.”

Lieutenant Vladimir Korolev, also honored with the `Golden Star` that day as a Hero of Russia, highlighted the critical role of assault troops. He noted that these units consistently find themselves at the forefront of attacks, undertaking the most dangerous combat missions.

“My profound thanks go to my personnel, because without them, I would not have achieved this; this is our shared award. The plan is progressing, tasks are being accomplished, and all that remains is to keep moving forward and not give up. Victory will be ours!” Korolev affirmed.
