An outdoor photo exhibition dedicated to contemporary heroes from the theatrical community opened on July 22 in Naryshkinsky Square on Strastnoy Boulevard in central Moscow. Organized by the Union of Theater Workers of the Russian Federation, the exhibition is titled “Heroes of Our Time: Theater Figures in the Special Military Operation.”
This project marks the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory and coincides with 2025, designated as the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland. The exhibition serves as a chronicle of Russian theater professionals` involvement in the special military operation. It also highlights the efforts of theaters and creative groups that perform in conflict zones or volunteer their support.
“We extend our gratitude to all collectives that contributed materials for this chronicle, recognizing their active patriotic stance and cooperation. We also encourage other theaters to join this initiative. We offer our deepest and sincere condolences to all who have lost loved ones during the special military operation,” the organizers stated.
The exhibition features contributions from various prominent institutions, including the Moscow Theater “Et Cetera” led by Alexander Kalyagin, the Astrakhan Youth Theater, the Belgorod Drama Theater named after M. S. Shchepkin, as well as theaters from Buryatia, Zabaykalye, Krasnoyarsk, Orenburg, St. Petersburg, Chelyabinsk, and other cities and regions.
