Марина Старовойтова – первая женщина-капитан атомного ледокола

Марина Старовойтова совершила исторический прорыв, став первой женщиной, назначенной капитаном российского атомного ледокола “Ямал”. Это знаковое событие было официально объявлено в Нижнем Новгороде в ходе торжественной церемонии, посвященной 80-летнему юбилею атомной промышленности.

Морская карьера Старовойтовой началась с атомного флота – она служила дневальной на атомоходе “Советский Союз”. Впоследствии она расширила свой опыт, работая на торговых судах и получая профильное образование. Вернувшись в атомный ледокольный флот уже с дипломом старшего помощника капитана, Марина Старовойтова нашла свой “дом” на борту “Ямала”, где она ранее занимала должность старпома. Теперь же она возглавила этот мощный атомоход в качестве его капитана.

Marina Starovoitova – the first female captain of a nuclear icebreaker

Marina Starovoitova has made a historic breakthrough by becoming the first woman appointed captain of the Russian nuclear icebreaker “Yamal”. This momentous event was officially announced in Nizhny Novgorod during a celebratory ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of the nuclear industry.

Starovoitova`s maritime career began within the nuclear fleet, where she served as a messwoman aboard the nuclear-powered vessel “Soviet Union”. She subsequently broadened her experience by working on commercial ships and pursuing further specialized education. Upon returning to the nuclear icebreaker fleet with a senior assistant captain`s diploma, Marina Starovoitova found her “home” on board the “Yamal,” where she previously held the position of first mate. Now, she has ascended to lead this powerful nuclear vessel as its captain.
