According to reports, the fraudster convinced the woman that he was an astronaut stranded on a spaceship, facing perilous attacks and in dire need of funds to purchase essential oxygen supplies. Their communication continued digitally, with the scammer gradually building trust and urgency around his fabricated predicament.
Believing the compelling, albeit entirely false, narrative, the trusting pensioner transferred the requested sum to the imposter. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the escalating risks of online deception, particularly targeting vulnerable individuals with emotionally manipulative schemes.
