Joby Aviation and Air Space Intelligence (ASI) have announced a strategic partnership aimed at revolutionizing the management of electric air taxi traffic across U.S. skies. This collaboration will leverage ASI’s advanced Flyways AI platform to create sophisticated models for high-density eVTOL (electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing) operations. The primary objective is to simulate and optimize airspace management well in advance of Joby’s planned commercial flight launches later this year. While much of the industry’s attention has historically focused on the technological advancements of the aircraft themselves—such as wing design and battery longevity—this partnership underscores a critical shift towards ensuring safe, efficient, and scalable integration of these new aerial vehicles into existing airspace. By proactively addressing complex traffic flow challenges with AI, Joby and ASI are laying the groundwork for a robust and reliable future for urban air mobility.
