The Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) has released a weather alert via its Telegram channel, warning of unfavorable weather conditions anticipated in Moscow and the surrounding Moscow region. Forecasts indicate rain, thunderstorms, high winds, and the possibility of hail.
According to the message from the Moscow Main Directorate of the MES, intermittent rain is expected throughout the day on July 14th in the city of Moscow. This precipitation could turn into heavy downpours in certain areas, accompanied by thunderstorms. Hail is also a possibility during the afternoon and evening. Gusty winds are anticipated during thunderstorms, with speeds potentially reaching up to 15 meters per second during the night and increasing to 17-20 meters per second in specific locations during the day.
A similar weather advisory was also disseminated by the Main Directorate of the MES of Russia for the Moscow region through its official Telegram channel.
In response to the forecast, rescuers have urged citizens to take necessary precautions. Drivers are strongly advised to significantly reduce their speed, maintain a greater distance from vehicles ahead, and avoid sudden braking or maneuvers. Pedestrians are recommended to steer clear of billboards and unstable structures and to refrain from seeking shelter under trees during the severe weather.
