Moscow is bracing for possible showers, thunderstorms, and even hail in certain areas on Saturday. According to Mikhail Leus, a lead forecaster at the Phobos weather center, temperatures could climb to 34 degrees Celsius.

Leus explained that the weather pattern in the Moscow region on Saturday is influenced by the warm sector of a distant cyclone located over northern Poland. Moscow will experience variable cloudiness. In the latter half of the day, scattered short-lived showers are anticipated, with a chance of thunderstorms and isolated hail. Daytime temperatures are predicted to reach 32-34 degrees Celsius in the city and 30-35 degrees Celsius in the wider Moscow Oblast. These figures remain considerably above average, surpassing long-term norms by seven to eight degrees.

The forecaster also mentioned a southeast wind, which could become gusty during thunderstorms, with speeds ranging from four to nine meters per second. Atmospheric pressure is expected to remain relatively stable throughout the day, reading around 748 millimeters of mercury, which is near the standard level.

Leus concluded by stating that Moscow has passed the peak of the heatwave, and temperatures are expected to decrease slowly and gradually starting from Saturday.
