Students from Moscow achieved exceptional results at the International Biology Olympiad, held in the Philippines from July 20 to 27, by clinching three significant medals. This impressive accomplishment was officially announced by Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin through his Telegram channel.

“Moscow`s students have proven to be among the top performers at the International Biology Olympiad. Vera Krasnoperova from School No. 57 proudly claimed a gold medal, Zakhar Degterenko, also from School No. 57, earned a silver medal, and Alikhan Zhangaziev from the Center for Pedagogical Excellence school was awarded a bronze medal,” Mayor Sobyanin stated.

Mayor Sobyanin extended his heartfelt congratulations to the talented students, emphasizing their successful competition against national teams representing nearly 80 countries. He also noted that prior to the Olympiad, the participants underwent a rigorous preparation program at the Moscow State University (MSU) Faculty of Biology, which included extensive lectures and practical training sessions designed to sharpen their scientific skills.

This recent success builds upon a previous triumph in May, when the Russian team secured a gold medal at the inaugural Open International Biology Olympiad, hosted in `Sirius.` In that competition, they demonstrated their prowess against participants from 14 different countries.
