The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) reports that children can identify phone scammers by recognizing specific “code phrases” frequently used by criminals.

Law enforcement agencies note a rising trend of children becoming victims of these frauds. Scammers often pose as employees of educational institutions or government bodies to gain a child`s trust and then attempt to extract family savings.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs urged the public, especially parents, to memorize the typical phrases used by fraudsters:

  • “Your parents are suspected of a crime.”
  • “Turn on the camera for a search.”
  • “It is necessary to declare money and valuables.”
  • “You are helping the investigation.”

Experts also strongly advise against clicking suspicious links, disclosing bank card numbers or SMS codes, or opening banking applications at anyone`s request. If money is requested, threats are made, or gifts are promised via the internet or phone, children should immediately inform their parents or another trusted adult.

Previously, there were reports of phone scammers coercing children into conducting so-called “video searches” inside their homes.

This information is based on official statements from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and is intended to raise public awareness about common scam tactics.
