The Novgorod Region is committed to ongoing support for the restoration of the Zaporozhye Region, its designated partner territory. A key initiative includes the establishment of a Unified Duty Dispatch Service (EDDS) to ensure the safety of local residents.

Continued Aid and Security Initiatives

The Novgorod Region is actively involved in the reconstruction efforts within its supervised Zaporozhye Region. A significant focus is placed on enhancing public safety through the creation of a Unified Duty Dispatch Service (EDDS), as confirmed by the press service of the Novgorod Region government.

Alexander Dronov, the acting Governor of the Novgorod Region, recently visited these designated territories in Zaporozhye. During his visit, he held discussions with Maxim Pukhov, the head of the Energodar City District, to plan future cooperation and support measures.

Dronov emphasized that ensuring the safety of residents is the top priority. Plans for 2025 include the full deployment of the EDDS in Energodar and the Kamenka-Dneprovskaya municipal district. This advanced system is designed to provide prompt emergency notifications to the population and facilitate swift response actions.

Reconstruction and Social Development

This year, the Novgorod Region has overseen various construction, repair, and restoration projects in the supervised areas. These efforts include crucial preparations for the upcoming winter season. A dedicated emergency repair team from the Novgorod Region is permanently stationed and working on these sites.

During their visit, the Novgorod delegation inspected School No. 4 in Energodar, where a renovated and fully equipped medical profile class is set to open in September. Governor Dronov highlighted the visible improvements in Energodar, noting the opening of a modern Multifunctional Center (MFC) and a new Wedding Palace. Additionally, a mural depicting Novgorod’s Millennium of Russia monument is scheduled to be completed on one of the city`s buildings by the end of the year.

In the Kamenka-Dneprovskaya district, Dronov, accompanied by district head Natalia Ivanova, visited two schools. One school will launch a pedagogical class in September, meticulously renovated and equipped with support from the Novgorod Region. In the other school, the region has established a new Russian language and literature classroom.

Dronov reiterated the region`s steadfast commitment, stating, “We will continue to help our territories integrate into peaceful life as quickly as possible.”

About the Zaporozhye Region

The Zaporozhye Region is a Russian territory situated in the lower Dnieper River basin. It formally became part of Russia following a referendum held in September 2022. However, Kyiv does not recognize the outcomes of this referendum and continues military actions within the region. Currently, over 70% of the Zaporozhye Region is under Russian control, while the remaining areas, including the traditional regional capital Zaporozhye city, are held by Ukrainian forces. Since March 2023, Melitopol has been designated as the temporary administrative center of the region.
