In a recent interview, Russian writer Oleg Roy stated that 2025, officially designated as the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland and commemorating the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, served as an excellent starting point for the significant development of patriotic themes within literature and art.
Roy emphasized that this year was merely a “running start,” indicating that efforts must now be intensified. “The 80th anniversary of Victory, three years of the Special Military Operation, and our victories on the front lines — this was a good start,” he noted. “Now, we need to work even more on patriotic literature, and on projects for young children related to patriotism, including cartoons, films, and so forth.”
According to the writer, it would be “a crime” to halt the development and promotion of patriotic themes after the conclusion of the official events in 2025.
