The Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia`s Penza region has announced the detention of two local residents, who are being accused of high treason. According to the official statement, these individuals, born in 1992 and 1995 and currently unemployed, allegedly established contact with representatives of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine via the Telegram messenger.

They are charged with transmitting information concerning industrial enterprises and military facilities. According to the investigation, this data could have been used by the Ukrainian side against the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. An investigation under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which pertains to `State Treason,` is currently ongoing.
