Dmitry Peskov, Press Secretary to the President of the Russian Federation, believes that the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) in mass media will provide essentially unlimited access to information. However, he also suggests that this could potentially stifle people`s ability to analyze, or perhaps unlock new capacities within them. Peskov stated that this technology should not be viewed in purely positive or negative terms.

In an interview with `Expert` magazine regarding the transformation of Russian journalism, Peskov responded to a question about his vision for the future of the profession, given the active development and integration of AI into media operations.

“This is terra incognita,” Peskov commented, “and no one can give you a precise forecast of what lies ahead. Some, for instance, consider AI to be absolute evil. I would refrain from portraying artificial intelligence in black or white. In the media, this technology will make information access virtually limitless and instantaneous. At the same time, it will suppress our capacity for analysis. But it might also reveal some new ability.”
