Preview President Putin Advises Russians: Hang Up If They Talk About Your Money

Russian President Vladimir Putin offered critical advice aimed at safeguarding citizens against online fraudsters and scammers. He provided this recommendation during his annual live Q&A session, which was combined with his yearly press conference.

Addressing the nation, Putin emphasized that despite ongoing efforts by authorities to combat cybercrime, fraudulent activities have not ceased, and criminals are constantly improving their methods and tools to deceive people.

“The moment anyone, regardless of who they claim to be or what voice they use, starts discussing money or any form of property, immediately hang up the phone,” the head of state advised Russians.

He urged citizens never to engage in any discussion whatsoever concerning their personal finances or assets with unknown callers.

Previously, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) reported that swindlers are creating sophisticated copies of banned websites to blackmail Russian citizens. These criminals often threaten victims with public disclosure of information that could potentially lead to legal responsibility.
