Russian President Vladimir Putin extended his greetings to the participants of a ceremonial session of the General Council of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia (FNPR). This event commemorated two significant milestones: the 120th anniversary of the trade union movement in the country and the 35th anniversary of the FNPR itself. In a telegram published on the Kremlin`s official website, Putin underscored the enduring and critical role that trade unions consistently play in upholding the rights and interests of working individuals.
“I greet you and congratulate you on these significant dates,” the head of state articulated in his address. “Russia`s trade union movement is distinguished by its profound history and admirable traditions. It has consistently served as a pivotal force in advocating for the rights of working people and, over many decades, has made substantial contributions to the enhancement of labor legislation and the resolution of pressing social challenges.”
The President conveyed his satisfaction that the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia diligently preserves and expands upon the rich heritage bequeathed by its predecessors. Through this commitment, the FNPR has firmly established itself as one of Russia`s most vital and influential institutions within civil society.
Putin further remarked: “You contribute significantly to reinforcing social stability and fairness, fostering harmony in labor relations across Russia, and constructing a productive dialogue among the government, employer organizations, and trade unions. This invaluable and multifaceted work is truly deserving of deep appreciation and recognition.”
