A recent study conducted by Chinese scientists and published in the journal Foods indicates that regular consumption of camel milk powder enriched with probiotics can significantly improve the condition of patients with type 2 diabetes. Within just four weeks, participants experienced a reduction in blood sugar levels and improved cholesterol indicators.

For the experiment, 28 volunteers were divided into two groups. One group received camel milk daily with the addition of the probiotic Bifidobacterium animalis, while the other received regular milk. After a month, participants consuming the probiotic product showed a significant decrease in fasting glucose levels, an improved ratio of “bad” to “good” cholesterol (low-density and high-density lipoproteins), and a reduction in inflammatory markers in their blood.

Researchers also observed positive changes in muscle function and gut microbiota: the group receiving the probiotic showed an increase in beneficial Bifidobacterium. These changes may play a crucial role in metabolic control and reducing the likelihood of developing diabetes-related complications.

Despite the small scale of the study, scientists believe that probiotic camel milk holds significant potential as a dietary therapeutic component for individuals with diabetes.

It`s worth noting that other beneficial properties of camel milk have been identified previously, such as its ability to alleviate symptoms of allergic asthma caused by dust mites.
