As Presidential Advisor Elena Yampolskaya announced, Russian President Vladimir Putin has prepared a special address for first-graders, which will be featured in the new edition of the primer. This significant development aims to welcome young students as they embark on their educational journey.

The initiative came from Yampolskaya herself. In early June, during a meeting of the Council for the Support of the Russian Language and Languages of the Peoples of Russia, she suggested that the head of state should personally address each first-grader. This address, she stated, is intended to appear on the very first page of the new primer, which is part of the unified state curriculum being implemented.

“Vladimir Vladimirovich has already prepared the text of this address,” Yampolskaya confirmed. “We specifically requested it for the primer because it is the very first textbook a child picks up. I believe it will be wonderful if every child starting school sees greetings not only from their family and teachers, but also from the President of Russia.”
