MOSCOW. Russia`s state space corporation Roscosmos has published striking satellite images depicting the cyclone that brought significant rain and hail to the capital.
Earlier on Saturday, Moscow`s city services reported that central areas of the capital had received nearly a quarter of the month`s average precipitation in a single day. Thunderstorms and heavy rain struck the southeastern parts of the city on Saturday evening.
A message from the state corporation stated: “Heat, rain, and hail in Moscow — Roscosmos satellites showed what the cyclone looks like from space.”
Roscosmos specified that the images were captured by the Russian satellites “Electro-L” and “Arktika-M”.
