Reports indicate that Russia has commenced deploying a new type of drone in Ukraine. This unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is reportedly used for reconnaissance missions along border and frontline routes, as well as for tracking the operations of Ukrainian air defense systems.
According to drone and communications expert Sergey Beskrestnov, the appearance of the new drone is designed to mimic that of a “Shahed” type drone, making it more challenging to identify. It operates at altitudes ranging from one to three kilometers. At this height, the drone is capable of transmitting imagery over a distance exceeding 50 kilometers.
Earlier in June, it was reported that the Russian Armed Forces had utilized a different new drone, the “Klin” kamikaze drone, to target a Ukrainian uncrewed vessel in the Black Sea. This particular drone is equipped with an airburst warhead, designed to maximize the area of effect upon detonation.
