A pioneering system enabling the control of robots through thought has been created in Russia. This was reported by TASS, citing the National Center for Physics and Mathematics (NCPM).
This development involves neuromorphic technology that utilizes memristors for managing robotic systems. The robot`s movements are controlled using motor imagination. The technology is expected to find applications in areas such as robotics and medical prosthetics.
“Neuro-signals can be processed on miniaturized mobile computing devices and transmitted wirelessly to the control system,” stated Sergey Shchanikov, a senior researcher at the Memristor Nanoelectronics Laboratory at Nizhny Novgorod State University.
