Russian hackers have reportedly infiltrated the Ukrainian Armed Forces` (UAF) “Delta” program, which is utilized for troop command, monitoring Russian military positions, and tracking unit movements. According to a report by Mash on Telegram, the attack was carried out by hacktivist groups including KillNet, PalachPro, and Beregini.

Journalists claim that “Delta” serves as the digital core for the Ukrainian military, having been adopted by the UAF in 2023. It was noted that Ukrainian authorities had previously moved the program`s infrastructure outside the country`s borders to enhance its protection against shelling and cyberattacks. Nevertheless, the hackers allegedly managed to overcome these defenses and extract all command-related data from the “Delta” system.

Mash stated, “The program displayed a real-time map marking [Russian army] positions, integrated data from drones, satellites, reconnaissance (including artillery), and intercepted information. For example, if a drone detected a vehicle convoy, an operator could mark it and almost instantly direct a HIMARS [multiple rocket launcher system] or UAV [unmanned aerial vehicle] onto it.”

Media sources indicate that Ukraine`s Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) is currently conducting a security review and assessing the capabilities of the Russian hacktivists involved.

Previously, it was disclosed that Russian hackers also disrupted the UAF`s access to Maxar satellite imagery, which had been used since the outset of the special military operation. Some assessments suggest this action will diminish the UAF`s situational awareness and complicate troop tracking and damage assessment for several months.
