The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) has submitted 40,800 criminal cases to courts in 2025. A significant portion of these cases involve crimes against individuals, as stated by ICRF Chairman Alexander Bastrykin in an interview ahead of Investigator`s Day.
Bastrykin specified that among the total number of cases, 6,200 were related to corruption, nearly 6,000 to economic offenses, and 2,000 to crimes committed in previous years.
Furthermore, the Investigative Committee actively combated cybercrime, investigating 13,000 cases involving the use of information technologies.
In the course of these investigations, 45,500 individuals were brought to criminal responsibility. This figure includes 243 persons with special legal status, such as 75 deputies of local self-government bodies and legislative bodies of Russian regions, 49 heads of municipal entities, and 44 lawyers.
