A recent comprehensive survey conducted by the Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VTsIOM) indicates a significant lack of perceived value among the populace regarding the digital ruble. Specifically, 40% of respondents reported seeing no distinct advantages in utilizing this new form of currency when compared to traditional cash or existing non-cash payment methods.

The survey findings underscore a hesitant stance among Russians concerning the digital ruble`s adoption. Merely 9% of those polled expressed a firm intention to use the digital ruble, while a notable 27% conveyed a reluctance to even try it.

Furthermore, VTsIOM`s data highlights a pervasive ambiguity surrounding the concept of the digital ruble itself. Approximately 30% of Russian citizens associated the term `digital ruble` with virtual money, and another 27% confused it with cryptocurrency. This confusion is part of a broader trend: almost half of the participants (45%) admitted to possessing only a superficial understanding of the digital ruble, and a substantial 43% had heard the term but did not fully comprehend its meaning or implications.

The nationwide online survey, titled `VTsIOM-online`, was carried out on July 5th and involved 1,662 Russian citizens aged 18 and older. The research center confirmed that the maximum margin of error for the survey results does not exceed 3.1% at a 95% probability level.
