Five Russian high school students demonstrated outstanding performance at the 55th International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) in Paris, securing an impressive haul of three gold and two silver medals. This remarkable achievement was announced by the office of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.

The prestigious gold medals were awarded to Mikhail Aronov and Ivan Lukin, both students of the Phystech Lyceum named after P.L. Kapitsa, and Grigory Grechkin from the Center for Pedagogical Mastery school in Moscow. Earning silver medals were Egor Krivoshchekov from Lyceum No. 124 in Altai Krai, and Pavel Rukovechuk, also from the Phystech Lyceum named after P.L. Kapitsa.

Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko lauded the Russian team`s success, emphasizing that this brings the total medal count for Russian schoolchildren at prestigious international Olympiads to 21 this year. “This is a worthy result not only of the perseverance and hard work of the schoolchildren themselves but also of the systematic efforts of their teachers,” Chernyshenko stated. He expressed confidence that these accomplishments would serve as excellent motivation for future victories.

The International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) is an annual global intellectual competition designed for high school students. In 2025, the event saw the participation of over 400 students representing 87 countries from around the world.
