Russian military personnel have reportedly devised a novel method for neutralizing Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This new technique, dubbed the “copter catcher,” involves using a rope to bring down enemy drones.

The method utilizes an interceptor drone modified with a simple setup consisting of a rope, nut, washer, and magnet. This modified drone, possibly referred to as a “Mavic” configuration, flies towards an adversary`s UAV, entangles its propellers with the rope, and causes it to crash.

In related news, there have been earlier proposals to arm Russian “Geran-2” kamikaze drones, which are primarily used for engaging ground targets, with air-to-air missiles. Such a modification, if implemented, could significantly impact operational strategies and expenditures.
