The Russian wine producer Myskhako LLC, based in the Krasnodar Krai, has initiated legal proceedings with the Intellectual Property Rights Court. The company seeks to revoke the legal protection of the “Intrigue” trademark within Russia, a brand currently held by the renowned French cognac house Louis Royer.

The international trademark “Intrigue” was first registered in 2004 for alcoholic beverages and enjoys protection in several countries, including Russia, the United Kingdom, Japan, and China. Myskhako`s claim for cancellation in the Russian Federation is based on the assertion that the brand has not been actively used for the past three years.

The lawsuit was filed on July 28 and has been accepted for consideration by the court. Preliminary hearings for the case are scheduled for September 1. The Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent) has been included in the dispute as a third party.

According to data from `BIR-Analitik`, Myskhako LLC has been operational in the village from which it takes its name since 2017. Alexey Sidyukov is identified as the beneficial owner through various legal entities. The company`s primary business activity is the production of grape wine. In 2024, Myskhako reported a net profit exceeding 240 million rubles.

Louis Royer, a prominent French cognac house, was established in 1853. Under the “Intrigue” brand name, the company is known for producing a liqueur.
