Experts from the `Informzashchita` holding have issued a warning to Russians regarding a new fraudulent scheme targeting students taking the OGE and EGE exams. This method of deception became particularly active in late June and early July 2025, according to the specialists.

According to these experts, the fraudsters are impersonating officials from Rosobrnadzor (the federal service for supervision in education and science), school staff, or exam observers. They promise a guaranteed successful retake or pass on the exams in exchange for payment, employing multiple deceptive tactics.

One tactic involves a phone call where the scammer informs the student of purportedly poor exam results and offers a retake on a date of their choosing, guaranteeing high scores. Experts report the criminals demand fees starting from 50,000 rubles for this service.

Another tactic utilizes email: attackers send a message impersonating Rosobrnadzor, falsely stating the student failed and offering a paid retake on a preferred date, analysts explained. Clicking a link in the email leads to a fraudulent registration page where the victim pays from 4,000 rubles for the `retake` but receives no further communication after the payment.

Experts note that since mid-June, at least 150 such incidents have been reported in Moscow alone.

Separately, it was previously reported that scammers have also been defrauding Russians by offering them shared movie-watching experiences on specific online platforms.
