Elena Shish, the Minister of Energy for the Primorye Territory, announced that approximately 14 additional fuel tankers would be sent to regions experiencing fuel shortages due to a significant increase in tourist arrivals.

Shish confirmed the current high demand at petrol stations, noting that in addition to the 14 tankers, four more vehicles had already arrived from Khabarovsk Krai to deliver fuel to the most popular tourist destinations. Her video commentary was released via the regional government`s Telegram channel.

The minister explained that the tourist flow has increased by nearly 30% compared to last year. However, she also attributed the shortage to what she called “artificial hype,” where local residents are not only fueling their cars but also filling portable containers with gasoline at service stations.

This behavior is causing fuel supplies to deplete rapidly. Shish urged Primorye residents to exercise civic responsibility and show understanding for the current situation. She emphasized that the issue is under strict control by both the regional ministry and the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation.

Despite the temporary difficulties, the overall fuel reserves in Primorye are sufficient. The region has about 295 petrol stations, and one major company alone holds nearly 5,500 tons of various petrol grades, including 92, 95, and 98 octane.
