Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced a significant milestone: the successful completion of the company`s first fully autonomous vehicle delivery. A Tesla Model Y vehicle traveled autonomously from the factory directly to a customer`s home, achieving this feat a day ahead of schedule.
Musk publicly thanked Tesla`s software and artificial intelligence chip development teams for their successful work on the project, highlighting their contribution to this achievement.
He shared the news via social media platform X, stating: “The first fully autonomous delivery of a Tesla Model Y from the factory to the customer`s home (…) was carried out a day ahead of schedule!”
This positive announcement follows earlier reports from mid-May by the publication The Information. Those reports indicated that Tesla was facing challenges in thoroughly testing its robotaxi service in the United States ahead of a previously planned June launch.
