Preview Turkey Unveils Container-Disguised Missile Launch System

At the international defense exhibition IDEF in Istanbul, the Turkish company Roketsan unveiled an innovative missile launch system ingeniously disguised as a standard cargo container. This development marks a significant step in concealed military technology.

This system, showcased at the Atatürk Airport exhibition grounds, features a six- or twelve-meter transport container designed to covertly launch up to six Kara Atmaca surface-to-surface cruise missiles. These missiles boast an impressive range of up to 300 kilometers. The cunning design also integrates a complete control unit within the container, allowing for autonomous launch operations.

Such a cleverly concealed deployment method significantly complicates the detection of these mobile launch units by adversaries. This strategic camouflage provides a considerable advantage, enabling the potential for sudden and unexpected attacks with enhanced stealth capabilities.

In a related development, Roketsan had previously showcased its new Simsek-2 launch vehicle at the IDEF 2025 exhibition. This impressive two-stage liquid-fueled rocket stands 40 meters tall and is engineered to deliver a payload of up to 1500 kilograms into a sun-synchronous orbit at an altitude exceeding 700 kilometers, demonstrating the company`s broader advancements in aerospace technology.
