The official website for St. Petersburg`s Pulkovo Airport has reportedly been subjected to a cyberattack, with initial intelligence pointing towards involvement from Ukraine. This development was first publicized by the Shot Telegram channel on Friday, September 19.

According to information obtained by Shot, the digital intrusion occurred approximately at 10:30 AM Moscow time. The report specified, “Preliminary data suggests that the hacking attack originated from outside the country, specifically from Ukraine.”

Airport authorities, in a statement to Shot, confirmed that despite the website breach, airport operations remain entirely unaffected. Flights are continuing their regular schedules, departing and arriving without any reported disruptions.

The news of the Pulkovo website`s compromise initially surfaced earlier on September 19. Airport representatives promptly issued an apology to passengers for any inconvenience caused and reassured the public that they were actively working to restore the website`s full functionality.

This incident is not isolated, as a similar cyberattack was reported in July, targeting the information system of Aeroflot, Russia`s prominent airline. In that earlier event, cybercriminals reportedly gained unauthorized access to the personal computers of employees. However, the airline`s operational systems were successfully restored shortly after the breach.
