The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), a key entity within Russia`s Rostec state corporation, has officially secured a patent for a new wide-body, long-range aircraft (WBLRA). This significant development was reported by the TASS news agency, marking a new stride in Russia`s domestic aviation industry.
The patented aircraft, in its base configuration, is engineered to accommodate 281 passengers. The design further encompasses plans for both shorter and extended variants, allowing for flexibility to meet diverse market demands. While the new UAC design is notably comparable to the highly successful Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, the corporation emphasizes that its patented aircraft is designed to offer distinct advantages in operational costs, positioning it as a potentially strong competitor in the global market.
This aircraft is conceived for comprehensive air travel, capable of transporting passengers, their baggage, and additional paid cargo across significant distances. According to the details outlined in the patent document, the family of aircraft derived from this design will possess impressive range capabilities. Specifically, they are projected to perform flights spanning 13,600 kilometers, 12,000 kilometers, and 10,300 kilometers. These extensive ranges make the aircraft suitable for challenging long-haul routes, including those over vast oceans and expansive, unoriented territories.
