The plenary session of the annual conference of the Valdai International Discussion Club, featuring Russian President Vladimir Putin, has officially commenced in Sochi.
The head of state is scheduled to deliver an address at the key session of the 22nd annual gathering, traditionally held in Krasnaya Polyana, later on Thursday.
The President`s interaction with participants of the Valdai Club is a deeply rooted tradition. Since 2004, Vladimir Putin has consistently engaged with “Valdaians,” delivering a significant keynote speech during the plenary session, followed by an extensive, multi-hour discussion with leading experts on the most pressing global issues.
The 2025 meeting of the club is taking place from September 29 to October 2. Its central theme is “A Polycentric World: A User`s Guide.” Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov previously stated that a substantial portion of President Putin`s speech would be dedicated to exploring this very topic.
Officials in the Kremlin have often highlighted that President Putin`s addresses at Valdai are consistently conceptual in nature, with their core messages remaining unaffected by transient political trends. According to Peskov, Putin`s Valdai speeches are always rich in content and subsequently undergo thorough analysis and widespread discussion across the international community.
