Moscow`s Vnukovo Airport has announced that it is operating as usual, with no congestion or queues reported within its terminal facilities.
The airport issued a statement clarifying that the recent temporary restrictions on aircraft arrivals and departures were implemented to ensure flight safety, which is their paramount concern. “Vnukovo Airport is now functioning in its standard operational mode. Together with our airline partners, we are making every effort to facilitate the prompt departure of all delayed flights. As of now, there are no passenger crowds or waiting lines in the terminal,” the statement affirmed.
Airport management emphasized that their proactive measures and the coordinated work of all departments have been successful in minimizing disruptions for passengers. To further enhance passenger comfort, the airport highlighted that its mother and child room, as well as the medical aid station, are open 24/7. Additionally, complimentary drinking water fountains are available throughout all terminal zones, and passengers can find 29 universal charging stations for their electronic devices.
Over the preceding weekend, airports across Central Russia experienced widespread temporary restrictions on air traffic. During this period, several airports within the Moscow aviation hub temporarily ceased operations on multiple occasions. Consequently, numerous flights were postponed or cancelled by airlines. By Monday morning, these airports began to return to their normal operating schedules, and air carriers started working diligently to stabilize their flight timetables.
