Amazon Acquires Fauna Robotics, Developer of Child-Sized Humanoid Robots
In a notable move within the tech industry, Amazon has announced its acquisition of Fauna Robotics, an innovative startup co-founded by former engineers from Meta and Google. Fauna Robotics is recognized for its creation of Sprout, an anthropomorphic robot standing 107 centimeters tall, which demonstrates capabilities such as walking, dancing, and precise object manipulation. The entire Fauna Robotics team, comprising 50 employees along with co-founders Rob Cochran and Josh Merel, will integrate into Amazon's workforce.
