Xiaomi is expanding its vehicle lineup with the SkyNomad N90 Max, a large, extended-range electric SUV that prioritizes functionality as a mobile lounge, office, and living space over sporty performance. This marks the company's first EREV (Extended Range Electric Vehicle) model, where electric motors exclusively drive the wheels, and a gasoline engine acts solely as an energy generator to produce electricity.
The result is a family vehicle with up to seven seats that boasts a combined range of 1,705 kilometers. Its interior is fully reconfigurable, featuring rotating seats, reclining armchairs, a central table, and even a dedicated edition for camping enthusiasts. Xiaomi will begin accepting pre-orders in China with a price of 299,900 yuan, approximately €36,000 at current exchange rates. Commercial launch is slated for September 2026.
Up to 1,705 Kilometers Thanks to a 76 kWh Battery... and a Gasoline Engine
The Xiaomi SkyNomad N90 Max is equipped with a 76 kWh ternary lithium battery, providing up to 464 kilometers of range under the CLTC cycle. When the battery level drops, a 1.5-liter, 112 kW turbocharged gasoline engine kicks in, paired with a 60-liter fuel tank. This engine is not mechanically linked to the wheels but operates as a generator to power the battery and extend the total range to the aforementioned 1,705 kilometers.
Propulsion is handled by two electric motors, one with 210 kW and another with 100 kW, delivering a combined output of 310 kW, equivalent to approximately 421 hp, and providing all-wheel drive. Despite its considerable weight of around 2,800 kg, the SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, reach a top speed of 190 km/h, and charge from 20% to 80% in about 18 minutes using fast charging.
The Xiaomi SkyNomad N90 Max measures 5.28 meters in length, 1.99 meters in width, and 1.825 meters in height. Xiaomi will offer it in five and seven-seat configurations. The seven-seat model features a 2+2+3 seating arrangement designed for larger families and long-distance travel.
A Transformable Interior and a Camping-Ready Edition
The SkyNomad N90 Max's primary appeal lies in its interior. The front seats can rotate 180 degrees to face the second row when the vehicle is parked. Additionally, the central armrest can slide on rails and transform into a small table, a central console, or a workspace for a laptop, dining, or playing board games.
The second row features zero-gravity seats with leg rests, and some configurations include four seats with 16-point massage functions. The amenities can be further enhanced with a refrigerator, ceiling-mounted speakers, large glass surfaces, and voice controls for adjusting the cabin layout. Xiaomi summarizes this philosophy by describing the car as a studio for one, a cafe for two, a lounge for three, or a play area for the whole family.
The range will also include the SkyNomad N90 Max Camping Edition. As the name suggests, it adds a pop-up roof, an upper platform for a bed, side cabinets, a connection point for a tent, and a detachable table. This variant reaches a height of 1.92 meters and its weight increases to 2,840 kg. For safety reasons, the roof can only be deployed when the vehicle is stationary. Alongside the N90, Xiaomi will offer the SkyNomad N70 and N70 Max, slightly smaller and more affordable five-seat models built on the same Kunlun architecture for extended-range electric vehicles.
