Noctua, a highly respected name in PC cooling with over two decades of experience, is known for its distinctive brown and beige color scheme. While this signature look has garnered a loyal following, Noctua has also offered gray and black options. Now, the company is set to release the NF-A12x25 G2 chromax.black, a black variant of its acclaimed 120mm fan.
For over a decade, Noctua maintained its iconic brown color palette. However, in 2019, the company made a significant aesthetic shift towards black, introducing the first chromax.black line of CPU coolers, followed by fans. This move acknowledged the widespread preference among PC users for black components, a decision that proved to be a safe and popular choice.

Noctua’s Roadmap Indicates Fan Launch in Q2 2026
With COMPUTEX 2026 just a month away, the launch is expected in the second quarter of 2026, as per Noctua’s updated roadmap. Previously, a review of the standard brown NF-A12x25 G2 model highlighted its impressive air pressure, achieving airflow comparable to 2,400 RPM fans at only 1,800 RPM, while maintaining very low noise levels (around 41.5 dBA) for the amount of air moved.
Noctua’s updated roadmap for the second half of 2026 also includes the highly anticipated Noctua AIO liquid coolers and the Pulsar Feinmann mouse. Additionally, the third quarter of 2026 is slated to feature a 140mm desktop and personal use fan, a USB fan controller, and the Seasonic PRIME PX Noctua Edition power supply.
