Months after their initial launch, Apple has started selling refurbished MacBook Neo models. When these devices were first introduced at a compelling $599 price point, there was considerable anticipation. Despite initial concerns about 8GB of RAM and the A18 Pro chip, the performance proved to be quite impressive.
However, due to fluctuations in RAM and SSD prices, Apple subsequently increased the retail price of the MacBook Neo. Now, the company is offering refurbished MacBook Neo units that are priced similarly to their original launch cost.
Apple, a global tech giant, maintains its leading position even with a different approach to AI investment compared to its peers. The company’s profitability stems from substantial profit margins and high sales volume. While Apple products are known for their premium pricing, customers are willing to pay for the value they offer. Additionally, Apple provides more budget-friendly alternatives to its standard iPhones and MacBooks, such as the iPhone ‘E’ and MacBook Neo models.
Refurbished MacBook Neo Models Now Available at Prices Comparable to Their Launch Day
Initially priced at $599 in the US and €649 in Spain, the MacBook Neo offered a competitive price for a laptop that outperformed some Windows equivalents. Following a price increase from €649 to €799 for the 256GB model, the Neo became less of a bargain. The 512GB model also saw its price rise from €799 to €899, affecting not only the Neo but also other MacBooks and iPads. Recognizing a potential impact on sales, Apple has responded by introducing refurbished MacBook Neo models. In the US store, the 256GB refurbished model is available for $599, effectively bringing it back to its original launch price.
While the pricing in the Spanish store isn’t an exact match, it remains competitive. The refurbished 256GB MacBook Neo in ‘citric‘ color is priced at €679, which is €120 less than the current retail price and €30 more than its initial launch price. A more appealing option might be the refurbished ‘indigo‘ 512GB SSD MacBook Neo, available for €759. This represents a €140 reduction from the current retail price and is €40 less than its original launch price.
Beyond MacBook Neo: A Wide Selection of Refurbished Apple Devices
For comparison, the 512GB MacBook Neo in the US is even more affordable at $679, making it $20 cheaper than its initial $699 launch price. For those seeking more powerful MacBook models equipped with Apple’s non-mobile chips, Apple’s refurbished section offers a vast array of options.
Currently, there are four pages dedicated to refurbished Macs, likely featuring over 100 laptops and devices. Refurbished MacBook Air models, starting with the 13-inch M4 chip version at €929, are available, as are various iMac desktop computers. While these refurbished machines offer significant savings, it’s important to note that Apple provides a reduced 1-year warranty on these units, which are pre-owned devices that have undergone repair, cleaning, and rigorous testing to ensure they function like new.
